BRUSSELS, Belgium (AP) – Belgium’s Queen Fabiola, the sister-in-law of King Albert II, has been hospitalized with a lung infection, the royal palace said Saturday.
Queen Fabiola, 80, was taken late Friday to Brussels’ Saint John’s hospital, the palace said without elaborating on her condition.
She was treated last week for four days in a hospital for an unrelated problem, but the palace has not said what that was.
Queen Fabiola was the wife of the late King Baudouin, who died in 1993. Baudouin was succeeded by his brother, Albert, while Fabiola kept her official title of queen.
